The View was built around a simple belief:

That's what we want The View to bring to Morganton and the greater Catawba Valley.

From “There’s Nothing to Do Around Here” to Doing Something About It.

Founder Rex Willis grew up in South Morganton overlooking the community he still calls home.
Some of his favorite childhood memories came from family trips to drive-in theaters in Shelby and Kings Mountain. The movies, the stars, the time together, and even the quiet drives home afterward.

He also grew up hearing something familiar to a lot of people around here:
“There’s nothing to do around here.”

Years later, those memories and that familiar complaint came together with a bigger idea.
What if we created another reason for people to come together right here at home?

After years of research, persistence, conversations, and more than a few moments of wondering whether this crazy idea could actually work, The View became a reality.
Not simply somewhere to watch a movie.
Somewhere to make a memory.
